Getting Married
The Sacrament of Matrimony is a sacred covenant through which a man and a woman establish a lifelong partnership. By its nature, marriage is oriented toward the mutual good of the spouses, as well as the procreation and education of children. For baptised Christians, this covenant has been elevated by Christ to the dignity of a sacrament.
Weddings in our churches can be celebrated on any day except Sunday, Christmas Day, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Saturday. Couples are required to give the Church at least three months’ notice of their intention to marry.

Wedding - St Joseph's Church, Galliagh
Once you’re ready to book the church, you will need to provide some details about yourself and your intended spouse, along with a £100 booking fee.
The priest who officiates your wedding will fulfill both the civil and religious requirements for marriage. Consequently, there will be two sets of paperwork to complete. After booking your wedding, you will receive an email outlining the procedures to follow. Six months before your wedding, you will also receive an email to begin the necessary paperwork.
All couples marrying in the Catholic Church are required to complete a pre-marriage course. This course can be completed at any time before the wedding and can be booked at www.accord.ie
