The Sacrament of Reconciliation

We are all sinners, in constant need of forgiveness. We fail, we fall. Confession gets us back up again.

The sacrament of Reconciliation is the way by which individual men and women confess sins committed after baptism, and have those sins absolved by God through the agency of a priest . The sacrament of Confession is rooted in the mission God gave to Christ to forgive sins, and which Christ passed on to His disciples. After His resurrection, Jesus said:

“As the Father has sent me, even so, I send you…Receive the Holy spirit, if you forgive the sins of any , they are forgiven ; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’’ – John 20:21-23
